Reporting for Duty

Soldiers of the 1st infantry division, welcome to Fallujah, Iraq. I trust that your trip over from the States was non-eventful and relaxing. Unfortunately, with the situation here, it may be the only relaxation you have for a while.

With the crackdown in Baghdad by Coalition forces, the violence seems to have waned somewhat in the capital. The insurgency, however, has increased in our province; most likely due to fleeing insurgents regrouping in our area. Our soldiers have fought hard here for months, and with you as reinforcements, they hope to be able to turn the tide of the insurgency in Fallujah.

Make no mistake, this will not be an easy fight. Rely on your training and your fellow soldiers.

Regards,

Gen Hampton

Brig. Gen. Hampton

UN Soldiers- The WHO has asked the UN to assist their doctors as they do rounds in Iraq. The UN’s main role in this will be to set up and take down the doctor’s field clinics. The UN has their hands full with these clinics, so they have turned to the US military to offer protection to themselves and the WHO doctors.
